The grounds are amazing and include a schoolhouse where you can learn about how the school day was, a blacksmith house with numerous tools specific to their times and different exhibits like an original stagecoach and a Chumash hut.
Newbury Park CA has access to so many trails. One of the most beautiful is the Boney Mountain Overlook Trail. This moderate to difficult trail is open year-round and features a waterfall. More strenuous than others, this trail has spectacular views at the peak, huge meadows and ocean breeze.
If you want to hike from Newbury Park CA to the beach, you can take Big Sycamore Canyon Trail. This scenic hike is great for all levels hikers and has multiple trails from the main road. Fun downhill hike to the beach that starts in Newbury Park CA and goes all the way to Pacific Coast Highway (it’s better to have someone pick you up on PCH). 8 miles (one way) of beautiful nature and peace for hikers and bikers. The first 3 miles are paved, and there is a great stopping point for lunch or a quick rest at Danielson Ranch group camp.
